Last week I joined the Smeared and Smudged Forum, for those of you, who like your art a little on the dark side, I would highly recommend it. It is through joining the Forum I became aware of Skull Appreciation Day Blog Hop, which will be starting at Smudgy Antics on the 4th of June 2011. It promises to be a great hop so make sure you are at Smudgy Antics on Saturday morning and be ready to view the deliciously dark, twisted and horrifying projects on show along the way.

The sponsors for the Hop are the following

FAB!!! I hear you say :) and you would be right, but it gets better there will be freebies given out along the way on the hop.

Hope to see you there.

A Pendant??????

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all well. Thank you for your comments on my previous posts. oxoxox

Yes! HDH, I did find this challenge difficult, lol , I ended up making two entries, one of which I know can't win because it is not an original piece of art work (as in by me), it's by Mark Ryden and it is one of my favourites by him and I think it has turned out quite nice (so nice, I think I'll wear it) and I wanted to show it to you all.

Here she is, let me know what you think.

You can't see the picture very well, so here is a close up of the picture.

Isn't she beautifull? or am I just weird????

Ingredients

Mark Ryden image - from the net, sized on the PC to fit the frame
Frame and Chain - Hobbycraft

The other I made using a digi I got free from Smudged and Smeared which I coloured on the PC and sized to fit the frame. I then cut him out and glued him to some of that sticky backed glittery effect vinyl (fablon), I then placed a peel-off frame over the top. I coloured the rose on the frame with permanent markers. I then pierced a hole in the top and attached a chain with a brad.

Here he is, let me know what you think.

Ingredients

Image - Digi (free from Smeared and Smudged)
Backed on to sticky backed glittery vinyl and Peel Off Frame - Dainty Supplies
Chain - Hobbycraft

I would like to enter these pendants in the following challenge(s)

Sparkles Forum Challenges - Use Something Metal
Crafty Cardmakers Spotlight Challenge - Challenge yourself to try something new (I made a pendant)
Freshly Brewed Challenges - Anything but a Card

R.I.P

Firstly I would like to thank all of you who left comments on my last post, you guys have heaped so much praise on me, my head won't fit through the door lol. Seriously guys, your comments are very much appreciated, Thank You All :) X

Now on to my post.........Yes, everyone RIP does mean rest in peace, but it refers, in this instance, to resting, as in sleeping undisturbed in the posh camping area at the Download Festival in Derby. To camp in the RIP area it is very expensive!!!! probably because they have HOT running water in their showers and FLUSHING TOILETS!!!! which us common campers do not have, anyway, my friends and family go every year and every year we say next year we will go RIP and of course we never do because it's sooo expensive!!! Which brings me to the card I would like to show you. This is a birthday card for my friend, who struggles through the common camping with me.

Here it is, Let me know what you think.

Unfortunately no, I didn't colour the sky or the grass, it's printed card, if only I was that good :( I did, however, colour the tent and girl using Marvey Le Plumes and pencils. The tent is actually coloured purple and yellow, but the purple has photographed blue????

Ingredients

Tent - Digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil
Girl - Rubber Stamp from Crafts and Me
Sky and grass printed card, Ribbon, Yellow daisy backing paper, Purple flower, White heather, Brads and Tiny daisy charm - Hobbycraft
Large white daisies - Wild Orchid Crafts

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges

Divas by Design - One for the Girls
Paper Pretties Wednesday - Flowers
Crafty Creations - Flower, Patterned Paper, Ribbon
Guylous Inmitability - Green, Purple, White, Flower
Some Odd Girl - Make a Scene
Creative Friday - Summertime
2 Sisters Challenge - Use a digi (the tent image is a digi)

That's all from me for now.

Take care

Dali Delusions

Hi Everyone,

Hope you have all had a good week, and thank you so much for all your encouraging and helpful comments, all are greatly appreciated.

I have had a very good week craft wise, I have made four cards, weyhey! all of which I will show you in due course, but firstly I would like to show you the card I made for the Haunted Design House Challenge - Macabre Monday Dali Delusions - produce something inspired by Salvador Dali. Now, I'm not a big fan of Dali, (sorry to those who are), so I went off scrolling through the net and found an image I liked and the more I looked at it the more I liked it and now I LOVE IT! so much so that I am going to change the sentiment and give it to my Husband for his birthday (next week), so maybe Dali is not so bad after all :)

So here is my offering, let me know what you think.

This one was meant to be a close-up to show you the sentiment, but I don't think it is clear enough to read (a photographer I am not!) The sentiment is a Dali quote which reads "The one thing the world will never have enough of is the outrageous" (sooo true)

Ingredients

Image - Internet
Flowers - Wild Orchids Crafts
Lace - Janice's of Hollywood (eBay USA seller)

The grey speckled card in the background is a self-adhesive vinyl (bit like Fablon) It actually looks like glitter card, but the camera has not picked this up - Craft Shop (Dainty Supplies)

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Haunted Design House - Macabre Monday - Dali Delusions
Spoonful of Sugar - Anything Goes
Scrapbook Sisters - Black and White
Simon Says Stamp - Sparkle and Shine (I've used glitter backing paper and it's vinyl so it shines)
Really Reasonable Ribbons - Challenge #24 Anything Goes
Terrifically Thrilling Thursday - Anything Goes
Paperplay - Sparkles Galore
Crafty Purple Frog - Monochrome
Sew Many Challenges - Flowers and Lace
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Crafts 4 Eternity - Flowers, Ribbon, Bling

I know I'm stretching it on some of these challenges, but what the heck, you've got to be in it to win it. Wish me luck :)

Six six six (666)

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all well and have had a good week.

For my card I have used a Delicious Doodles image which I love. Originally I was going to use this image without any colour, but then I thought, the flame needs colour, and then the melted wax on the candle needs to be glossy. I think I got a bit carried away with the six theme (I may have done too many) Anyway here is the finished result.

The melted wax on the candle is so glossy it has shown up white in the photo (I'm sure all the good photographers out there can tell me what I have done wrong here).

I have used six layers not including the image, decoupaged the six sculls at the front of the image and used six sixes.

Ingredients

Image - Delicious Doodles
Backing papers - Crafty Chaos Designs
Sixes - Anita's peel offs coloured with black permanent markers
Black pearls - local craft shop

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges

Haunted Design House - Mark of the Beast
The Crazy Challenge - Anything Goes
Kaboodle Doodles - Lots of Layers (I have used six)
Stamps R Us - Masculine
Crafty Creations Challanges - Anything Goes
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge - Anything Goes
Sew Many Challenges - Anything Goes
Mami Doodles Digital Stamps - Stripes (I have used red & black striped backing paper)
Stamp Something - Anything Goes
