Nailed It

Welcome to the new Macabre Monday two week challenge at Haunted Design House.

Nailed It!

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Hallowe'en based art piece, that contains pins or nails of one sort of another.  You can use straight pins, safety pins, carpentry nails, nail heads or fingernails, whatever, as long as it's nail related in some way.

This is what I came up with

Not quite sure what you would call it...... wall hanging?...... door plaque?........ anyway,  it started off life as a piece of 5" x 7" wood. Which I painted black. The image I borrowed from the net and glued to the wood and hammered the nails to each corner.  The tassel was a curtain tie-back, which I unravelled, stitched into shape and attached to the outside with a staple gun,  and there you have it!

and I did it all without damaging my own nails LOL

Burnt Offerings with Smudgy Antics

Welcome to another two week challenge with Smudgy Antics. The theme for the next two weeks is
BURNT OFFERINGS.

You can interpret the challenge theme anyway you choose, you can burn the edging of your cardstock or a portion of your project.......yeah, that didn't work out too well for me LOL  or you could use a
Soot stamping technique,
Use a wood burning tool in some way on your project
Use your heat gun to scorch area of your project.

Also acceptable, especially for the accident prone.......that would be me :) are the following
Use a faux Burnt technique
Add faux flames to your project
I'm sure there are other things, but I'll let you decide what to do.

Here is my Burn Offering

The background is an image borrowed from the net. The image is a rubber stamp from Smeared Inks In Death range, which I've heat embossed over the flames. The intention, was to make them look like they were engulfed in flames.........not sure I've pulled it off though LOL

Astrological Atrocities

Hi All,

Welcome to a new Macabre Monday challenge at Haunted Design House. For the next two weeks we challenge you to create a dark, Gothic or Hallowe'en based art piece that is somehow directly and obviously inspired by the signs of the Zodiac or Astrology.

If you are thinking "Astrology isn't your thing", check out what our sponsor and very talented Minion, Teri has to offer in her Delicious Doodles digi shop

Delicious Doodles Shop

First up, is the beautifully drawn horoscopes. Teri has been working feverishly on this new line. I believe it is almost complete with all twelve signs of the Zodiac

and then for those of us with a darker palette, Teri has created HORRORSCOPES ......... Badass, wicked and a must have for any dark crafter.

Here is my Astrological Atrocity
Using Libra from the Horrorscopes

The backing paper is Pile of Bones.  The main image is Libra from the Horrorscope range, she has been coloured with Promarkers and Marvey Le Plumes, then fussy cut, then mounted with blobs of Pinflair Glue Gell to give her some dimension. Both the digi stamp and bp are from Delicious Doodles, .

Quest 23 ~ Tic Tac POE

Hi All and Welcome to a new month long challenge at Quoth the Raven and that challenge is
Tic Tac POE

You can choose any of the options above so long as they run in a straight line, be it horizontal, vertical or diagonal, for example, Flowers, Raven, Lace.  There is only one rule and that is your project must be
Edgar Allan Poe related.

I have chosen the centre horizontal line
Fabric, Raven, Brads

The red fabric in the background I bought from a little haberdashery shop in Whitby. The raven and Poe image are both from the net and the brads and tassel are from my stash.
