Simple Design

Hello,

Hope you all enjoyed your Easter break. Those of you (like me) who drive to work, hasn't the lack of traffic on the roads over the Easter break been great! I'm not looking forward to sitting in the traffic jams when the schools start back again. Anyway, on to my card, which is quite a simple design this time. I used Voodoo woman from Delicious Doodles for the main image and my colouring still needs lots (and lots) of practice. I'm not entirely happy with this card, but I figured if I show you my mistakes you can tell me how to put them right.

So here she is

.........and her close up

Ingredients

Main image and sentiment from Delicious Doodles
Coloured with pencils and Le Plumes.
Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts
Coloured crystals, pearls and lace all from local haberdashery

See, I told you it was a simple card.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges

Haunted Design House - Alone in the Dark
Crafts 4 Eternity - Anything goes
Just Add Ink - Just add a flower
Digi Doodles Shop's Best - Anything goes
Amber's Crafts & Stuff - Use a Digital Stamp

Take care

Mo and Zee's Carnival Blog Hop

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all well.

Zoe from Make it Crafty and Mo from Mo’s Digital Pencil have come together and created a FAB blog hop which runs until the 28th April, starting at Jak Heath's blogspot, so if you get the chance join in, I have just completed the hop and it was great fun! and the creativity on the various blogs along the way is amazing and definitely inspirational.

The two cards I have to show you have nothing to do with the carnival theme in the above mentioned blog hop, but I think there may be a carnival theme in the future lol. anyway here they are

For this card I used one of Kenny K's Gothic Angels,

I coloured her in using Marvey Le Plumes and used satin ribbon, feathers and punched out flowers to decorate. On top of the punched flowers I put gold coloured metal daisies and fixed them together with brads and roses.

I also made a box to match as no way was this card going to fit into an envelope

I would like to enter this card and box in the following challenges.

Pile it On - Smells Like Rubber (Kenny K image)
Ambers Crafts & Stuff - Ribbons & Bows
Stamp Insanity - Metal (the metal daisies and brads)
Stampavie and More - Birthday
Theme Thursday - Girls

Here is the second card I have to show you. This is a decoupage image, sorry all you stampaholics, but my colouring still needs (masses) of practice, anyway here it is.

You have to admit she is cute :-)

The backing paper is wrapping paper from a card shop.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts

The blue ribbon is Papermania stick on ribbon

The paper swirls are made with Do Hickey dies (sorry can't remember where I bought them, I will try to find out)

The white lace I bought at a local haberdashery

and the box

I would like to enter this card and box in the following challenges.

Ali Factory - Flowers in Bloom
Dare to be Sassy Thursday - Pastels
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Lots of Layers
Everybody Art Challenge - Pearls
Whoopsie Daisy - Anything Goes

I hope you all like what you see, all advice is gratefully received.

Take care.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

On the evening of Thursday, April 14th 2011 the Buffalo hardcore community gathered at Mohawk Place to support Terror and Trapped Under Ice as they took the stage to play a show.

With plenty of pile-on's, stage-diving, sing-along's and an incredible vibe of unity and energy, the show got off to an awesome start.

However, what began as a good-old hardcore show ended in a tragic incident that has forever altered the life of one of Buffalo hardcore's very own members.

MIKE BIRD, regular show-goer, hardcore kid, and a member of the Buffalo Straight Edge community, was knocked to the ground by a stage-diver. Hitting his back and head on the concrete floor, Mike had to be rushed to the hospital via ambulance to be treated for his injuries. Unable to move his limbs, or feel any pain in his lower-body, Mike received emergency spinal surgery for his injuries.
The official diagnosis indicates that Mike broke the C5 and C6 vertebrae in his neck. With no feeling in his legs, it is unclear how soon 19-year old Mike will regain use of his lower body and be able to walk (or mosh) again.

Without the luxury of being able to afford his own health insurance coverage, this injury is crippling financially as well.
An ambulance ride, emergency room visit, sophisticated spinal surgery, X-Rays, physical therapy, and medication leaves Mike Bird with a medical bill that will most-likely amount to a six-figure sum. His lack of insurance and limited mobility will make paying this debt an impossible task.

The Buffalo hardcore community is banding together, pooling our collective resources and organizing benefit events to help offset Mike Birds medical bills.

WE NEED YOUR HELP.

The community aspect of hardcore is something that transcends the boundaries of cities, crews, cliques, scenes, and sub-genres.
We are ALL hardcore kids; we're all cut from the same cloth.
We ALL go to shows, we ALL stage dive, and we've ALL had our share of mishaps.

It could have been any one of us in Mike Bird's shoes.
He just happened to draw the short straw that night and get knocked down.
But as we all know, when someone gets knocked down in hardcore, we PICK THEM BACK UP.

Several benefit events are being organized within the Buffalo scene as we speak.
I'm told that both Terror and Trapped Under Ice are both on-board for a special merch-run related to this incident.

We have set up a PayPal account for donations.
100% of the money donated to this PayPal will go DIRECTLY to Mike Bird's medical expenses.

If you have ANYTHING you can donate via PayPal, a quarter, a dollar, two dollars, please send donations via paypal to:
Sticktightbuffalostyle@gmail.com

NO donation is too small.
Mike Bird has NOTHING, so ANYTHING you can donate will add up.

If you have any questions about this fundraising effort, or want to help out and become involved, shoot me an e-mail at FrankNiemiec@yahoo.com

Blog Hops

Hi

Hope you are all well :)

Today I completed two Blog Hops, the first with Simply Sassy and the second with Crafts and Me Stamps, they were both great fun, I loved collecting all the letters for the Crafts and Me blog hop.  There are certainly some very very talented ladies crafting away out there.  It was a pleasure looking at all the lovely creations.

Now for my paltry offering:

I used a digi stamp from Mo Manning and coloured her in with Marvey Le Plumes. My colouring needs (lots) work, but I'm enjoying practising!

I have also done this card in blue using pencils to colour the image instead of pens.

Let me know what you think

I have entered this card in the following challenges.

MY TIME TO CRAFT - Mums the Word
CUPCAKE CRAFT - Flowers for Mum
DREAM VALLEY - Mother's Day
STAMPIN' FOR THE WEEKEND - Mother's Day
